It is difficult to master, that does not make it worse. Look at what the PS3 can do when used correctly. They designed the PS3 to be difficult but when mastered it is very powerful to be what it is.

The 10-15K players of EVE are not all going to play. There are probably only about 15K max EVE pilots and not all of them are going to play the game because they like EVE. Yeah it it will probably have a larger number of players than we do now but it won't break any records because pilots are not going to be able to mutil-box a FPS like they can EVE. They won't be able to have three pilots in space and be shooting on the ground and flying in Valk all at the same time. Tranquility pilot numbers are not the actual number of individuals who play because many, many players have at least two characters.

I am talking about players who play. Usually at most there are 37k players and probably half of those are alts of their main pilot. I am talking individual players and not subscribers. I am a carebear miner and I have two accounts on most of the time. Many players have cyno alts, titan alts and scout alts. Don't fool yourself into thinking there are 40k individuals playing that game at once.

You do not design a product to be hard to use unless the purpose of using the product is to cause you hardship. PS3 MIGHT be hard to design on because it as needed to make it so powerful for its day, and that might give very experienced developers more to work with overall, but now that there's easier more powerful ways to get the same results the PS3 IS a bad system to build in even if a thin argument can be made about that not being the case at launch. If SONY did make the platform that way on purpose without it being required then they need to check for gas leaks in their R&D department because those guys have brain damage.

If you have time to listen to the entire thing then it is very interesting. There is no if, it is true. Ken Kutaragi designed it to be difficult so it would have a long life.

It's not just gonna be the EVE players, it's gonna be anyone that has a PC that can handle plenty of things. You obviously haven't actually bothered to see how big the PC gaming community is.
I was addressing his comment about support from EVE players.

Tranquility pilot numbers are not the actual number of individuals who play because many, many players have at least two characters. There are over 500,000 current subscriptions in EVE Online. Assuming that everyone has three active accounts (which is a fairly large number; quite a few of the people I knew on EVE didn't even have two accounts), that's still 167,000 people.
Yes, there may be 500,000 current subscriptions but less than 1/10 are online and playing. Usually there are less than 40K players and many have at least two toons and lots have 5-6 accounts for other reasons. If you think there are over 100k players playing then you must believe that there are 1 million players playing DUST514 because that is how many characters there are.
Are Chribba alts. Elyza, Yuffie, Ifalna, Ellone, Rikku, Selphie, Nhadala, Refia, Shalua, Arylon, Chribba Kamprad, Chribba Veldspar, Enola Black, Chribba Claus, Selena Gomez, Rachele Smith, Bree Turner, Alexis Dziena, Zoe Saldana, Meagan Good, Amanda Crew, Amber Tamblyn, Tammin Sursok, Shenae Grimes, Kristen Wiig, Jennifer Alden, Nina Dobrev, Kaley Cuoco, Emilee Wallace, Alyson Michalka, Aimee Teegarden, Carla Gallo, Collette Wolfe, Shelley Hennig, Krysten Ritter, Alia Shawkat, Ellie Kemper, Ari Graynor, Maria Pitillo, Sydney Bennett, Alyson Stoner, Noureen DeWulf, Daniela Bobadilla, Brie Larson, Rosamund Pike, Charlie Spradling, Anna-Sophia Robb, Katie Findlay, Vanessa Lengies, Rose Leslie and Lizzy Caplan.
That is 17 for one person, the CEO of my old corp had three, I have two, and the two hosts of Down the pipe had five or 6 each. That is 33 accounts for five players and those are just the ones I can name in a few minutes.

Don't fool yourself into thinking there are 40k individuals playing that game at once. You really need to clarify more often, then. When you just say "There are probably only about 15K max EVE pilots", you're going to make yourself look like an arse because that's completely wrong. That's like saying there are only 2,000 Dust Mercenaries, because, you know, a third of them are AFK (pulling numbers out of your arse is fun, no wonder it's so popular on the forum).
I don't feel like explaining myself down to the very last detail to make it so clear you can read it from across the room. The point is there may be 500K accounts and 20k online but of those accounts many are alts and of those on line many are alts of a main. I would wager that at any given time the number online players is actually double the number of individuals playing, I may be off 10% but that is how it is. CCP runs a special called the power of two, what does that tell you? They want players to have multiple accounts so the numbers will be bigger.

If you re going to speak about possible players for legion, you should think about FPS Players and not eve or other genre players... Thats like say all current WoW players were Warcraft 3 players....
I am not talking anything about any other players but EVE players. The comment I was referring to is:
Foxbat 071 wrote:With all the support for Legion coming from EVE players, Dust revolutionaries are pretty irrelevant.
I hope that Legion does well but if CCP carries over their development process from this game to Legion then it won't really matter how many people play PC games because most won't tolerate the balance problems we have here and I am nervous that CCP will just keep doing the same thing they have been doing for two years and end up failing at another game.

A year or so ago CCP released figures showing that the average player had less than 3 accounts. Meaning that 500k subscriptions is about 200k players. 20-40k online at any one time is not 20-40k playing per day.
I didn't say it was. See the highlighted above.
